The City of Worcester is finalizing a citywide wood debris and brush collection program. The collection will be starting on the 20th and will be coordinated with the spring sand/sweep cleanup. We are in Area A which will be receiving two sweeps of the area. This northern half of Worcester is much more heavily wooded and also received more ice than the southern half. As such it will take much more time to get all the debris cleared. They do not have even an estimate of how long it will take as the amount of damage far exceeds the initial surveys done in Feb. The first sweep will be done to get the most obtrusive piles collected and to perform a detailed survey of the damage for a thorough second round which will include utility clearing (cutting limbs off trees which are now in danger of damaging utilities). All roads in our development will be circled and will not be missed, but may not be part of the first sweep for debris. Chester Street will be part of the first sweep due to the extensive downfall and utility damage they dealt with earlier this year.
